Net Neutrality battle is not over

Today, the Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 to kill net neutrality. We’re deeply disappointed in this decision. As an organization, Change.org decided this year that defending net neutrality was necessary to our mission of providing a free petition platform that empowers anyone, anywhere, to start or join campaigns about issues that matter most to them. I know you’re disappointed too. Despite FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, a former Verizon attorney, knowing that 83% of Americans support net neutrality, and that millions of you filed comments with FCC, flooded phone calls to Congress, and joined this massive Change.org petition, he rushed his plan forward. However, I want to say that losing is often part of creating change. Victories and progress take time. I’ve been part of many campaigns over the years and to watch 1.9 million people come together like you did for net neutrality was one of the most inspiring. Thank you so much. So, be upset, be angry, but don’t be discouraged. Because this isn’t over. We plan to continue this fight next year and we’ll be counting on you to help.
